Russian director Andrei Zvyagintsev, the winner of the jury prize at the Cannes Film Festival for The Loveless, tells about his plans for a new film.
He wants to depoliticize the topic of the Great Patriotic War and make a film about real human feelings at war. The cinematographer mentioned that he wanted to "tell about a man at war, about a man amidst total horror”.
“What else is war, if not total horror? How a person survives under these conditions, how a person tries to remain human and adapt to these circumstances”, - Andrei Zvyagintsev said.
The film script is ready since 2008, the director emphasized. According to him, this will be a series of short stories about different episodes of the war.
