For the first time such a variety of paintings and graphic works by Salvador Dali are displayed in Petersburg.
The Faberge Museum is displaying Salvador Dali’s works from the Gala-Dali Foundation, as well as museum and private collections.
The exhibits take visitors along the creative way of the famous artist - from surrealistic paintings that gained him fame in the 1930s to late works on themes typical for classical Western European art.
Special attention is paid to Dali’s interpretation of the artistic heritage of the Renaissance Masters, Michelangelo Buonarroti and Benvenuto Cellini. Of great interest are his illustrations to Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy performed in various techniques.
The exhibition runs in the Faberge Museum at the address 21, Fontanka Embankment, next to Gostiny Dvor metro station, till 2 July.
