The All-Russian Museum of Decorative and Applied and Folk Art is displaying art works by Prince Vladimir Golitsyn.

      
The exhibition "Sailor, Artist, Man. Vladimir Golitsyn is running from June 16 to August 1, 2017.


      The artist's works stand out with bright story-line paintings on agitational themes, reflecting the era of the first decades of Soviet power.


      Vladimir Golitsyn was a descendant of one of the most famous princely families of Russia, an outstanding artist of decorative and applied art, illustrator, and graphic artist, as well as a polar explorer and inventor. He created artworks for the Central Crafts Museum in Moscow. At the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925, Vladimir Golitsyn received Gold Medal for two painted wooden caskets.
