Technology of Waste-Free Production of Isotopes for Cancer Diagnosis

A special generator that makes it possible to reuse molybdenum has been developed in Siberia.

Scientists of the Tomsk Polytechnical University have invented technology for waste-free production of the radioactive isotope required in nuclear medicine for diagnostics of oncological diseases. The method provides for reuse of expensive raw materials.

As reported earlier, Tomsk scientists framed Russia's first isotope-based radiopharmaceutical for detection of signal lymph node, where the very first lymphogenous metastasises appear.
