This summer the Peter and Paul Fortress will once again plunge into the Middle Ages: dozens of reenactors will storm it for two days to fill this ancient place with the atmosphere of horse battles and the glitter of armor.
The bright world of past historic events will return on July 8 and 9: the festival "Battle on the Neva" is bringing together participants of historical reconstruction clubs from all over Russia and abroad. Swords and armor, equestrian tournaments, women's fights, group battles of knights, and a fair - as you see, all comers will find something captivating here. Those who are ready to immerse themselves in history only in theory will have an opportunity to listen to thematic lectures.
There will be lots of events for children as well, such as meeting heroes of ancient ballads, atmospheric photosessions and riding the wooden horse Bucephalus.
Fans of crafts are invited to master classes by blacksmiths, potters and masters of birch bark platting.
