World-Renowned Artist Ilya Glazunov Passed Away

Famous Soviet and Russian artist, Ilya Glazunov, aged 88, died of cardiac arrest last night.

      According to his daughter Vera Glazunova, the artist will be laid down to rest at the Novodevichy Cemetery on Tuesday. The funeral service will be performed at the Epiphany Cathedral.

      A member of the Russian Academy of Arts, the People's Artist of the USSR, Ilya Glazunov, is one of the most famous Russian artists, a painter, a book illustrator, a stage designer, and the author of over 3 thousand works. Ilya Glazunov is also well-known as the founder of the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
