As soon as 2018, Russian banks will begin to introduce a single biometric system of customer identification. This was announced by the director of the digital identity project of Rostelecom, Ivan Berov.
He also noted that after the introduction of the system in the financial sphere, it can be used in medicine and education.
As reported, the system tests will be completed in mid-October 2017. This is when banks will join beta testing. The launch date will be specified depending on the test results.
According to Ivan Berov, the biometric system will verify users based on the face dynamic image and voice.
The first ATM with the function of face recognition has already been installed in Sberbank of Russia.
