The contest program of the 13th International Muslim Film Festival in Kazan has included 60 films from 27 countries.
The festival has adopted a separate nomination of the National Cinema Section, which will introduce films made about the Republic of Tatarstan or by its dwellers and natives.
For the first time works from South Asian countries (“Clay Kingdom" from Bangladesh and "Turner Joshi" from India) and Africa ("Engagement Ring" from Niger, and "Women's Day" from Egypt) have made it into Top 10 of the Full-length Feature Film nomination.
At the same time Russia will be represented with the film "Sofichka", the press service of the film festival reports. It was directed by Kira Kovalenko, a student of renowned Alexander Sokurov.
