Vladimir Etush Recognized the Stage Actor of the Year

The People's Artist of the USSR, Vladimir Etush has become the winner in a special theatrical nomination for the prize annually awarded by the Moskovsky Komsomolets edition.

      The 95-year-old actor has played a female role for the first time in his life.  This role in the performance "Benefit" on the stage of his native Vakhtangov Theater has gained him the Actor of the Year title as of the theatrical season.

      The oldest prize has been awarded since 1995 and to 22 laureates already.

      According to the award director, Marina Raikina, the Eugene Vakhtangov State Academic Theater has become the leader in all categories in this season. The award ceremony will take place in autumn after the theatrical season starts. The ceremony will be held at the editorial office of the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper.
