Aquaculture is in demand among entrepreneurs and investors, fish products will be able to compete with meat and poultry over time - this was stated by the Head of the Russian Federal Fisheries Agency Ilya Shestakov speaking at the All-Russian Conference “On the Status and Prospects of Development of Commercial Aquaculture until 2030” that has been held in Rostov-on-Don.

      It is noted that Rostov Oblast maintains leading positions in the production of commercial fish in the South of Russia. The volume of production amounted to 20.5 thousand tons in 2016. For comparison, 18.3 thousand tons of commercial fish were produced in 2015, and only 17.8 thousand tons - in 2014.
