Sberbank Paid Insurance Compensation To the Depositors Of Yugra

Sberbank has paid insurance compensation in the amount of 50.4 billion roubles to the depositors of Yugra.

      Taking into account the participation of other agent banks, customers received 78.6 billion roubles, or 46 percent of the planned volume of payments (169.2 billion roubles).

      RNS indicates that VTB 24 paid 26 billion roubles to depositors, Rosselkhozbank paid 2.2 billion. “The paying agents are also “Otkritie” and “Uralsib” banks, they have not yet published the current statistics” - the agency notes. Earlier, on July 25, it was reported that “Yugra” applied to the Moscow Arbitration Court with a claim against the Central Bank. The financial organization asks to recognize the decisions and actions of the regulator as illegal.

Sberbank holds almost one third of aggregate Russian banking sector assets, it is the key lender to the national economy and the biggest deposit taker in Russia. The Central Bank of the Russian Federation is the founder and principal shareholder of Sberbank owning 50% of the Bank's authorized capital plus one voting share, with the remaining 50% held by domestic and international investors. Sberbank has more than 135 million individual customers and more than 1 million corporate clients in 22 countries. Sberbank has the largest distribution network in Russia with almost 17,000 branches, and its international operations include UK, US, CIS, Central and Eastern Europe, Turkey and other countries.
