Pension Fund of Russia Announced the Beginning of the Check Of Information On Possible Data Disclosure

The Department of the Pension Fund of Russia (PFR) in Moscow and Moscow Oblast has formed a special committee for checking the possible leakage of the personal data of more than 17 thousand people.

      “An internal committee was set up specifically for this incident, it is conducting a check. The committee includes experts from the Department for Information Protection. We do not involve any external experts, only our employees” - the representative of the fund’s department stated. The Web-developer Sergey Deryabin reported that one of the offices of the Pension Fund in Moscow and Moscow Oblast organized a mailing with the data including birthdays, registration addresses and Insurance Numbers of Individual Ledger Accounts of 17 752 people, writing it in the collective blog for IT professionals “Geektimes” on July 11. On the same day the Pension Fund of Russia announced the beginning of the check of information on possible data disclosure.
