The biosphere reserve, covering several environmental clusters, will be created in the Chelyabinsk region, the press service of the regional Ministry of Ecology reports. The new reserve  will occupy part of the territory of Zlatoust, Miass, Karabash and Kusa district.

The International Biological Program (MAB) is created for the territories where there is active economic activity and at the same time unique natural objects are located.

The reserve allows keeping balance between active use of biological resources and preservation of unique ecosystems. At the same time, it assumes active development of eco-tourism.

The structure of the biological reserve assumes the presence of three zones: a core, a buffer zone and a cooperation zone. The core is located in the protected zone of the national park "Taganay". It is surrounded by a buffer zone, which, in addition to Taganaya, includes the Arshinsky State Nature Reserve and the Turgoiak Lake Nature Reserve (Miass). The zone of cooperation is the territory of settlements, on the basis of which the tourist infrastructure will be developed.
