Luc Besson's Valerian Becomes Box Office Hit in Russia

For the first weekend of the film release in this country, “Valerian and the City of Thousand Planets” has collected 344.5 million rubles.

      This film has become the most ambitious and expensive in the history of European cinema. Its budget exceeded 177 million dollars.

      Another premiere – the horror "The Curse of Annabelle: Birth of Evil” – ranks second among the highest-grossing films in Russia now. It made 136 million rubles over the past weekend.

      The Dark Tower after the cycle of Stephen King's novels comes 3rd. It raised 72.5 million rubles over the weekend and 430 million over two weeks.
