Today, just like two centuries ago, Moscow becomes a great discovery for everyone who sees it for the first time. Graphic art, paintings and memories illustrate the impressions of foreigners, who visited the city or lived here in the 19th century.
What were strangers’ impressions of Moscow 200 years ago?
Visitors of the exhibition will see graphic art by Gerard Delabart, Peter Picart, Philip Benois, Andre Durand, and other artists who captured the image of Moscow of the 19th century.
In addition to drawings and engravings, the Moscow Museum is exhibiting texts, audio-visual materials and household items that give a clear picture of the historical period.
