33 Million Russians Are Involved In the Informal Labor

The share of Russians who are in some or other way involved in the informal labor makes up 44.8 percent of the working population. This is about 33 million people.

      According to past polls, 40.3 percent of employees were involved in the informal sector in 2016, 44.5 percent in 2013, 45.1 percent in 2006. The data cover the workers who had a permanent or temporary unofficial job or one-time non-taxable income at least several times per year during the previous year.
