Russian Film Takes Grand Prix at

The Closeness directed by Cantemir Balagov from Russia has won the Grand Prix at the 15th International Film Festival of Asia-Pacific.

      The film takes the viewer to the North Caucasus in the late 1990s. During a family holiday on the betrothal occasion, a young couple is kidnapped. Attackers demand a ransom for the young couple. The relatives of the kidnapped are ready to do anything to get their dear ones back.

      Actress Daria Zhovner featured in this film, has won the Best Female Role prize.

      Another Russian feature film “Fostbitten Carp” by director Vladimir Kott, has taken the Audience Choice Award.
