The Museum of Contemporary History of Russia is holding a unique photo exhibition from September 16 to October 15.
The exposition “Unknown Prokudin-Gorsky” for the first time presents unique pictures depicting the founder of the Russian color photography, Sergei Prokudin-Gorsky. Visitors will also see his laboratory staff and documents on his assistant photographer Nikolai Selivanov, who continued to work in color photography in Soviet Russia. Unique materials on the work at the photomechanical studio of Prokudin-Gorsky add up to his portrait.
Moreover, the exhibition presents the most complete collection of Prokudin-Gorsky’s color postcards, illustrating the earliest experiences of color photography (1903-1905), along with photo reproductions of his works, panoramas and other materials.
The Museum of Contemporary History of Russia is located at the address: 21, Tverskaya Street, Moscow.
