The First Tver Tourism Forum

The First Tver Tourism Forum gathered more than 120 participants. It was held on Wednesday, September 27, on World Tourism Day, in Tver, the press service of the regional government told Interfax.

      The forum brought together representatives of the authorities, hotel business and tour operators, museums, specialized public organizations, as well as experts and potential investors. Participants discussed the improvement of the quality of services in the tourism sector, development of event tourism, creation of author's excursion programs.

      The government of the region set the task for the next five years to increase the flow of tourists to the region twice - from 1.5 to 3 million people per year.

      Tourism should be a catalyst for the socio-economic growth of the municipalities of the Tver region, it stimulates the development of small and medium-sized businesses, the creation of new jobs, gives additional tax deductions to the territories.

      Starting next year, the implementation of the state program "Development of the tourist industry for 2018-2023 years" will start in the region. It will be aimed primarily at improving the state of tourism and road infrastructure, attracting investments in the creation of hotels, ethno-parks, non-state museums, the development of new routes and programs.
