Moscow Museum Received Photos of the Capital City Taken by Astronauts

On Tuesday, October 3, the Moscow Museum enriched its collection with unique photos of the Moscow city taken from the altitude of 400 kilometers by members of the International Space Station expeditions.

“Here the Earth and the space came together - you have never seen Moscow like this”, - the Hero of Russia, astronaut Sergei Ryazansky said. A picture paints a thousand words. The far, unattainable outer space will become real, tangible for the viewer”.

The Moscow Museum got the gift on October 3, in the jubilee year of the 870th anniversary of Moscow, and on the eve of the 60th anniversary since the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite.

19 Heroes of Russia took part in the ceremony of donating photos to the museum collection. Astronauts Valentina Tereshkova, Alexey Leonov, Sergei Krikalev, Boris Volynov, Oleg Kononenko, Yuri Gidzenko, Andrei Borisenko and others were among them.
