The Moscow Museum, the State Historical Museum and the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Education "Moscow Time" present the exhibition “Moscow in Photographs by Alexander Gubarev. 1912-1914”.
From October 5 to December 15 the Moscow Museum will be hosting an exhibition, which will for the first time present pictures by Alexander Gubarev (1862 - 1937), who photographed Moscow in the early 20th century. He was creating the photo-chronicle of Moscow for almost twenty years - from 1912 to 1931.
The exhibition will feature 130 photographs of the pre-revolutionary capital city of Russia from the collection of the Historical Museum.
These retro pictures will be supplemented with photos of modern Moscow, taken from the same points. By comparing historical views with modern shots, viewers will see how the city and its dwellers have changed.
Moscow Museum is located at the address 2, Zubovsky Bulvar, Moscow.
