It will take another three years to produce domestic parmesan in Russia. This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture Aleksandr Tkachev. The official stressed the fact that the cheese industry was actively developing after the introduction of the embargo on food products.

“I know that three or four brand new plants are being built in Russia. So, we will produce hard and soft cheese, as well as, naturally, blue cheese” - he said. He also added that in three years they expected to see several modern varieties of cheese to be produced and that we will have Russian parmesan. Tkachev explained that the production of parmesan was complicated from the technological point of view, since it required special cattle feeding, walking and production technologies.
