Russia Permits the Supply of Eggplants and Pomegranates From Turkey

Beginning from October 30, Russia permits the supply of eggplants and pomegranates from 27 Turkish enterprises. This was reported by the Minister of Agriculture Aleksandr Tkachev, as “RIA Novosti” reported. According to him, 27 enterprises will be permitted to import products.

      According to the forecast, the total volume of imports of pomegranates from Turkey to Russia will amount to about 10-15 thousand tons per year, and that of eggplants - 2-3 thousand tons per year, as the Minister said. Before the introduction of restrictions in 2015, Russia imported about 50,000 tons of pomegranates and 5,000 tons of eggplants from Turkey per year.
