Winter Season Opens In Moscow On November 11

The current season in the capital's parks, during which 3,2 thousand events will be held, will begin on November 11, the head of the Moscow Department of Culture, Alexander Kibovsky, said at an operational meeting of the city government on Friday.

According to him, skating rinks will open in 45 parks in Moscow, 23 skating rinks - with artificial ice. The entrance to 16 rinks will be free, and the average  cost of visiting will be 150-300 rubles, which is lower than the last winter season, when the price reached 550 rubles.

In addition, 113 winter rental stores, 54 snow and ice slides, 177 km of ski runs, 102 universal sports grounds, 12 ice towns and other facilities will operate in the parks. Lessons in figure skating will be held in 15 parks, in speed skating - in 10 parks, in hockey - in 12 parks. In a number of parks classes on curling, Nordic walking, skiing and extreme sports will be conducted.
