More than 10 ethnographic tourist routes will be available for visiting in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra in the summer of 2017.

In the framework of the state program of social and economic development of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North, grants were given for the development of infrastructure for ethnotourism. In its framework, as well as within the program of developing culture and tourism in Ugra, 19 organizations receive support, including ancestral lands, tour operators, and accommodation facilities.

Last year 350 thousand tourists came to the region, of which only 15 thousand came to ethno-routes. The main direction of tourism development in Ugra is event tourism. The main event of 2017 will be the project "Khanty-Mansiysk - New Year's Capital of Russia". Within the framework of the project there will be numerous festivals, including "Bath Festival", "Chumovaya Street", ethnosport festival, as well as competition of snow figures. For the development of extreme tourism, five base camps will be additionally created this year in different parts of the region, including Beloyarsk, Berezovsky, Soviet and Khanty-Mansiysk.
