Construction of the tourist complex, where more than 3,500 people will be able to rest annually, began in the Kurtatinsky gorge of North Ossetia, the head of the republic, Vyacheslav Bitarov, told Interfax-South.

"The project for the construction of a tourist complex with a hotel for 100 places, engineering, communal and transport infrastructure is carried out by STK-59 company in one of the most beautiful places in our republic. The area is popular among residents and guests of the republic, there are many historical and cultural sites here", V.Bitarov said.

He noted that the investment project was included in the development program of the North Caucasus, which will allow the company that implements it to receive funds on favorable terms in the form of long-term loans.

North Ossetia-Alania is small piece of land in the North Caucasus with most of its territory lying in the mountains and the capital in Vladikavkaz. Here the natural beauty of the mountain ranges, clear as crystal waters of rapid rivers and waterfalls and the inherited hospitality of local people offer a contrast to situation in the Region.

The Republic borders with Georgia in the south, the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria in the west and north-west, the Stavropol Territory in the north, the Republic of Chechnya in the north-east and the Republic of Ingushetia in the east. North Ossetia became a part of the Russian Empire in 1784, since then the status of the republic and its name changed several times until the year of 1995, when it was finally called North Ossetia-Alania. The official languages of the republic are Ossetian and Russian.
