New Travel Routes Will Be Presented In Tula Oblast

New railway routes with a visit to the attractions of Tula Oblast will be developed jointly with “Russian Railways” JSC, as the Head of the region Aleksei Dyumin said.

“Russian Railways” company is our partner in the development of the tourist direction. We are already developing unique railway routes to a variety of attractions of the region, primarily for children. I am sure that they will become a worthy alternative to car tourism” - Dyumin said at the 3rd Railway Congress; he also noted that Tula Oblast was the only region where museum complexes were being created at the already existing railway stations. There are a total of 13 such tourist facilities at the moment.

Tula has all of the features of the Russian Golden Ring cities of Yaroslavl, Vladimir, Uglich, and others. It is a middle-sized city, known as a historic, cultural, and scientific center. Tula is one of the oldest Russian-heritage cities. It is famous for its samovars, Russian pots, and Tulsky pryanik, or gingerbread, a traditional Russian cookie, as well as for being a major defense-industry city. Tula Region is the place where Leo Tolstoy, Great Russian author, whose novels are known worldwide, was born and lived. The atmosphere in his Yasnaya Polyana Estate strikes Tolstoy’s admirers.
