Up to 500 Thousand Foreign Tourists are Going to Come to Russia for the FIFA 2018

Up to 500 thousand foreign tourists are going to come to Russia for the FIFA 2018 World Cup, as the official FIFA partner in the category of payment services, Visa company, predicts.

      “Based on the consumer expenditures data and analytical information, Visa considers that in June and July 2018 Russia may be visited by 300 to 500 thousand foreign tourists, in addition to 4.3 million foreign visitors who used to come to the country during these months during the last four years” - the forecast published on the eve of the final draw of the World Cup 2018 said.

      Based on the analysis of data of the four previous FIFA World Cup championships, Visa estimates the increase in the number of foreign tourists inflow in Russia in June and July 2018 at 6-10%. The majority of visitors are expected to come from Europe (69%), Asia-Pacific region (12%), Northern, Central and South America (8%).
