A New Ski Complex Has Been Opened In Sorochinsky City District at the Mayak Mountain

A new ski complex has been opened in Sorochinsky city district at the Mayak Mountain on December 22. The event was attended by the Governor Yurii Berg.

The history of this object is rather interesting. The lift was made by the local resident, pensioner Petr Georgievich Grigoriev, himself. He had organized the work of the lift on the mountain by himself for several years. Schoolchildren with good grades skied for free, adults paid a symbolic fee. The initiative of the city resident and the idea of creating a ski resort were supported by the Governor Yurii Berg and the Government of the region. A serious support was provided for the development of the complex and its updating, large-scale works were carried out during several months. A completely renovated ski resort begins its work at the Mayak Mountain this season. The skiing complex involves illuminated tracks for skiers, snowboarders and for tubings, as well as two tow rope ways.
