It is planned to open the airport “Ulyanovsk-Tsentralny” (Brataevka) in January 2018, after the reconstruction of the terminal building, runway and adjacent territory, as the Governor of Ulyanovsk Oblast Sergei Morozov said in an interview with “Interfax Tourism” agency.
S. Morozov also recalled that, as the authorities of Ulyanovsk Oblast offered, the federal government transferred the airport complex to the region without a runway. The amount of investments in the reconstruction of the terminal amounted to about 700 million roubles. Besdies, the runway and adjacent territories have been rebuilt, the issues related to safety, sewage treatment facilities, bypass roads have been resolved at the expense of federal funds.
