A Single Operator for Collecting, Processing And Exporting Mammoth Tusks will be Created in Yakutia

A single operator for collecting, processing and exporting mammoth tusks will be created in Yakutia.

“The authorities of Yakutia are considering the creation of a Russian-Chinese company with a logistics and production complex in Yakutsk costing about 1.3 billion roubles on the basis of “Kangalassy“ advanced development zone” - the Minister of Investment Development and Entrepreneurship of the Republic Anton Safronov said. The relevant negotiations with Chinese companies have been held.

Up to 90 percent of the volume of mammoth tusks is exported to China. The creation of an operator will reduce the share of the grey market which is estimated at 30-40 tons and accounts for about a third of the annual production volume.
