If the additional examination does not reveal violations of the law, the film may restore its screening certificate.
The Culture Ministry of the Russian Federation has temporarily revoked the screening certificate of the film "The Death of Stalin" in order to check it up for extremism. This was announced yesterday by First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Culture, Elena Drapeko. According to her, unless it is proved that there are elements of extremism in the film, then "the film will go to the cinemas".
At the same time the deputy emphasized that she personally was against the general release of the film. “There are certain things in it that we cannot tolerate for reasons of public morality. I will try to ensure in any legitimate ways that this film is not on release”, - she added.
