Pensioners of the Sverdlovsk Region will take part in the casting for the 2018 World Cup Volunteers.


      
People who pass the selection will meet foreign guests - football fans, conduct an unusual city tour for them and invite them to a family dinner at home.

      Participants  will demonstrate their linguistic skills and knowledge of the history of the city during the casting. In addition, the main task is a development of a unique tourist route for foreign guests.

      After all, the pensioners will be trained. Within a few months they will visit the language club, develop interesting routes around the city, and train communication skills.

      The Football World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15, 2018. The games will take place in 12 stadiums in 11 Russian cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Sochi and Rostov-on-Don.

      As a result of the draw, in Yekaterinburg, matches will be held between Egypt and Uruguay, France and Peru, Japan and Senegal, Mexico and Sweden.

      Yekaterinburg can undoubtedly be labeled as the capital of the Urals, a place where Europe meets Asia and the third largest Russian tourist centre. Reputation of a scientific – industrial city and the high trade turnover make Yekaterinburg a hospitable place for business and financial affairs. Although the population of the Urals` capital doesn’t exceed 1.5 million people, the locals proudly call their native city the third capital of Russia.

There are 45 functioning scientific – research institutes, 30 higher education establishments, 40 centres of professional education and 150 municipal educational establishments. No wonder that the city attracts young people chasing for education, including foreign guests from Australia, the USA and some European and Asian countries: foreign students and learners from other Russian cities form one third of all students studying in Yekaterinburg. The most famous alumnus of one of Yekaterinburg`s institutes is Boris Yeltsin, former president of Russia.

      By train: from Moscow Kazansky Railway Station direct trains run to Yekaterinburg via Kazan. The journey takes 25 hours.

      

      By air: there are many direct flights from Moscow airports to Yekaterinburg. The flight takes around 2.5 hours.
