Tula Shows High Results at the

Tula gingerbreads, Belevian pastila and other gastronomic brands of the Tula region are named among the best at the All-Russian competition "Gastronomic impression".

Applications for the contest were accepted in 13 nominations, in nine of them participants from the Tula region won their awards. 

      Gastronomic tourism is one of the priority directions in the Tula region, for example, in 2017 the region entered the Gastronomic Map of Russia, and a regional map of tasty brands was published.Today, in a number of restaurants, one can try ice cream with gingerbread, ankovski pie and apples "a la dophine" according to the recipes of Sophia Tolstoy.

      Earlier it was reported that Tula gingerbread would be presented at the World Cup in Russia in the summer of 2018. It also entered the on-board menu of Aeroflot.

At present, the Gastronomic map of Russia includes Tula gingerbread and Belevian pastille. The regional gastronomic menu includes "Ankovsky Pie", cooked according to the recipes of Sophia Tolstoy, pie "Buninsky Garden", pies with nettles, drinking yoghurt "Tula Gingerbread", suvorovsky sweets, birch kvass, rolls "Venevki", Belevsky marmalade and marshmallow, berry tea,  ice cream with Tula gingerbread and strawberries, plum-pudding on the basis of prunes, sea-buckthorn cake with gingerbread "Kremlevsky" and dessert "Apple sambuk".  The "Gastronomic Map of Russia" project is being implemented by the Federal Agency for Tourism with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Russian Export Center and is aimed at promoting ethnic and gastronomic and rural tours throughout the country, promoting national and regional cuisine.
