Russia will have become the world’s largest exporter of primary energy resources until 2040. This is stated in the forecast for the development of world energy industry published by BP. According to the preliminary assessment, by 2040 the share of annual exports of the US (the largest consumer of gas and the second largest consumer of oil) will be relatively small, in comparison with the volume of world trade.

According to the estimates of BP, by that time the export of oil and gas from the USA will amount to 360 million tons - less than half of the expected volume of exports of these hydrocarbons from Russia in 2040 (780 million tons).
