Exhibitions of Paintings by Ilya Repin to Run in Moscow and St. Petersburg

Afterwards, the famous works of classical Russian art will be delivered to European museums.


In 2019, exhibitions of works by world famous Russian artist Ilya Repin will be held in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The events will be organized by the Tretyakov Gallery. No exact date and other details are known yet. Later on the exposition will go to Paris and Helsinki. European art lovers will see Ilya Repin's paintings in 2020 and 2021 respectively.


Besides, the Tretyakov Gallery plans to arrange a large exhibition of the Wanderers in two years. The museum administration points to the great interest of public in the Russian realistic art.


Ilya Repin was an outstanding Russian artist, the creator of several famous paintings on historical and everyday themes, among them Barge Haulers on the Volga, Zaporozhian Cossacks and Sadko.
