Sberbank has launched a new social service for children called ‘Isle of Safety’. The project positions each and every Sberbank office as a place that children can go to if they get lost, besides a police station.
Sberbank’s Isles of Security for children guarantee that any child who is lost and goes to a Bank branch for help will find a safe place and employees who care about them. The Bank’s employees will contact the emergency services and inform them that a missing child has been found.
According to Liza Alert Search-and-rescue Volunteer Organisation, every year 50,000 children go missing in Russia. Most get lost in crowded areas. Children who find themselves alone on the street often don’t know what to do or who to turn to. They are often afraid to approach an adult and admit they are lost. Sberbank branches are well marked and display a bright and memorable logo. Parents can explain to their children that if they get lost, they can always ask for help at a Sberbank branch.
