Sberbank has provided charity support to the National Organisational Committee of the EUROBOT International Robotics Competitions.
The support will involve Sberbank assisting in holding the Russian final of the competitions, which will take place on 20-22 April 2018 at Don State Technical University in Rostov-on-Don. In addition, Sberbank and the Presidential Grant Foundation will ensure that the top Russian teams will travel free of charge to the international final in France. At the final they will compete with Europe’s leading teams.
The first international EUROBOT competitions were held in France in the 1990s. Their aim is to foster and develop interest in robotics in young people through a series of exciting and friendly but competitive robotics events. Every year more than 450 teams from 30 countries take part in the competitions that also serve as an unofficial rating of Europe’s best tech universities.
Russia has been part of EUROBOT since 2006 (for more information, see http://www.eurobot-russia.ru/). Teams from two leagues take part. In the senior league, teams of participants aged 18 to 30 compete to build autonomous mobile robots. In the junior league participants aged 7 to 18 create remote-controlled robots.
