A High-speed Tram Line from St. Petersburg to Peterhof will be Constructed

The tender on the choice of an investor for building a high-speed tram line from St. Petersburg to Peterhof will be announced this week, as “Vedomosti” newspaper wrote, referring to Irina Babyuk, the Chairperson of the Investment Committee of Saint Petersburg.

It is necessary to construct about 20 km of tram tracks within the limits of the project. The Investment Committee estimates the costs at about 10.6 billion roubles. The project will be divided into two stages. First, a branch of the existing tracks must be built: along Marshala Kazakova Street, Baltiysky Boulevard, Marshala Zakharova Street, Geroev Avenue to Peterhof Highway – its total length being 6 km (its cost is estimated at 4.3 billion roubles), then - from the existing tracks on Peterhof Highway – up to Peterhof (14 km of tracks, including 5 artificial structures on water barriers, a total of 6.3 billion roubles).
