A special prize for the contribution to cinematography goes to the Polish film director Krzysztof Zanussi, who contributed to the strengthening of Russian-Polish relations.
“The Loveless” by Russian film director Andrei Zvyagintsev has become the winner of the new international film award "East-West: Gold Arch" in the category of full-length feature films.
The award is given for achievements in the field of cinema to the best authors of films produced in Eastern Europe and Western Asia.
"I am very glad that lots of Russian films made it into the nominations. The main thing for us is that Russian cinema exists in context here, because the context is very important. For us it is very important to be and feel not isolated. To be part of the single cinematography of the world and, in particular, that Eurasian space, which is in fact largely charged with common phobias, hopes, dreams, and aspirations,” - the film's producer, Alexander Rodnyansky, emphasized.
