Organ and orchestra will play music from Tchaikovsky’s great ballets "The Nutcracker", "Swan Lake", and "Sleeping Beauty" at the St. Peter and Paul Cathedral.
Tchaikovsky's genius manifested itself in all the genres he composed, including operas, symphonies, romances, and instrumental music. He elevated the genre of ballet music to an unprecedented height, having made it as important as choreography. In Tchaikovsky's ballets, music is symphonic, emotional, and very meaningful. On the one hand, it is perfect to accompany dancing, and on the other hand, completely independent, so lots of ballet music pieces can be performed on their own at concerts. The audience will have an unforgettable experience at the concert “For 200th Anniversary of Marius Petipa. Russian Ballet Music”, with the organ, violin and Antonio-orchestra performing the music of genius.
When: 3 pm on May 5, 2018.
Where: The St. Peter and Paul Cathedral at the address Bld. 10, 7/10, Starosadskiy Lane, next to Kitai Gorod metro station, Moscow.
