"Sobibor" directed by famous Russian film actor Konstantin Khabensky was demonstrated at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The show was atteneded by members of the European Parliament and the Russian diaspora of the Benelux, as well as journalists and diplomats, about 180 people altogether.
“The European Parliament is quite forthcoming in the organization of such meetings, this event being of public significance”, - Miroslav Mitrofanov, the show organizer and a deputy of the European Parliament from Latvia, said.
"The film tells the story of the tragic and unique events that occurred in the Sobibor concentration camp during World War II. The victims doomed to death managed to get act together, overcome their fears, defeat the enemy and save lives”, - the deputy pointed out.
The film “Sobibor” is dedicated to the uprising at the same-name Nazi camp in Poland in 1943. The Sobibor concentration camp operated from May 1942 to October 1943. Over that period, up to 250 thousand Jews were murdered at the camp.
Konstantin Khabensky starred in the film as Soviet officer Alexander Pechersky, who led the rebels. The film’s scriptwriter emphasized that everyone should watch this film.
