The Lumiere Brothers Photography Centre welcomes to an exhibition dedicated to the ballet troupe of the legendary Bolshoi Theatre.
The project presents a few dozen striking photographs taken by Sasha Gusov over the past two decades. They highlight behind-the-scenes life of the "big ballet" that gained world-wide fame after the first and extremely successful tour of the Bolshoi Theater back in 1956.
Among the displayed pictures there are both staged photo portraits and masterfully captured random moments of rehearsals and performances. The second series of works, according to the photo artist, is the most impressive, since the snaps in motion shot on usual photo film and without any special lighting equipment show the ballet just the way it really is.
Where: the Lumière Brothers Photography Centre at the address 3/1, Bolotnaya Embankment, next to metro stations Polyanka, Kropotkinskaya, and Oktyabrskaya, Moscow.
When: from June 28, 2018 to September 23, 2018.
