The first regular passenger cruise around Baikal has been launched.
The cruise from Turka to the island of Olkhon (Zagli Bay) will be carried out by the ship “Svyatoy Luka” (“Sait Luca”). Every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. the ship will depart from the bay of Zagli located on the island of Olkhon.
The return cruise from Turka to Olkhon will depart every Thursday at 7:00 a.m. Estimated travel time amounts to 6 - 7 hours. Ticket price: for adults – 3,500 roubles, for children (from 5 to 10 years) – 1,750 roubles, for children under 4 years - free of charge (if the child does not occupy a separate seat). Route navigation will last until August 30.
Olkhon is the most popular holiday destination for Russians and foreign tourists on Lake Baikal. It is called the geographical, historical and sacral centre of Baikal. It is also the only inhabited island of Baikal which is reached by ferry in the summer and by the ice of the lake in winter. The peak of the tourist season falls to July-August.
