The Tretyakov Gallery presents an exhibition of outstanding Russian artists of the late 19^th - early 20^th centuries on the phenomena of Russian history.

      Visitors will see paintings by Klavdi Lebedev, Konstantin Makovsky, Alexander Litovchenko, Sergei Ivanov, Andrei Ryabushkin and other artists who illustrated the historical events of Russia. Most of the canvases tell about the upheavals of the 16^th – 17^th centuries and portray historical personalities who embodied the Russian mentality. Visitors will see plenty of historical details, including traditional costumes, architectural elements, and everyday objects of Russia. In addition to paintings, the exposition includes several sculptures by Mark Antokolsky and Mikhail Mikeshin.
