Over 3 million tourists who stayed in the capital for more than 24 hours have visited Moscow during the World Cup 2018, as the Head of the city’s Sports and Tourism Department Nikolai Gulyaev told to reporters.

      “Moscow was the most popular city of Russia during the time of the World Cup 2018. More than 3 million tourists visited the capital and stayed there for more than 24 hours, 1.2 million tourists came from far abroad,” as Gulyaev said. According to him, tourists from China, the USA, Germany, the Netherlands and France became the leaders of the tourist flow. Gulyaev added that during the days of the championship there were 1525 officially accredited hotels in Moscow, and those were virtually completely filled.
