The Federation Council has approved a draft of the law introducing mandatory audio recording at the proceedings on civil cases in the first and appellate instances.

Beginning from September 1, 2019, audio recording at the proceedings on civil cases in the courts of the first and appellate instances will become mandatory. An exception will be made for closed court hearings.

At the same time, participants in the process will be able to file complaints about the inaccuracy and incompleteness of audio recording. The new law extends the authority of judicial assistants, and the composition of the court will be formed by an automated information system.
