Restoration works on the Bank Bridge of St. Petersburg, also known as “The Bridge with Griffins”, will last longer than planned and will be completed only in 2019, as Sergei Makarov, the Chairman of the City Committee for State Inspection, Use and Protection of Historic And Cultural Monuments, said.

“The griffins have been restored, but we are waiting for the bridge itself to be repaired, these works will be completed in 2019, not 2018, as we originally planned”, as Makarov said during the report on the committee’s work in the first half of 2018 on Monday.

Previously it was assumed that the restoration of the Bank Bridge will be completed by the autumn of 2018.
