The Russian capital ranked second among the world metropolitan cities in terms of the number of green zones and plantings, as the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction Marat Khusnullin said on Tuesday. “According to the results of an independent research, Moscow ranks second among the 14 metropolitan cities in terms of the number of green plantings.       According to him, Moscow is surpassed only by Hong Kong in this ranking. “We will continue to create new green zones, gardens and parks. These works will be taken into account within the framework of the renovation program”, he said. Several new parks have appeared in the city in recent years, whereas a number of old parks have been landscaped.
