 The hoteliers observed a high demand for rooms during the World Cup in all cities hosting the championship, the load of hotels made up more than 80%, as the press-secretary of the Federal Tourism Agency Irina Tyurina reported. “According to the hoteliers, despite many restrictions, as well as the cancellation of a part of reservations by the “Match Hospitality” company shortly before the World Cup, the championship paid off. The hotels were loaded more than to 80%”, she said.

      According to the Federal Tourism Agency, almost all the hotel guests were foreigners, including fans and people working for the World Cup. The largest number of visitors came from Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Britain, the USA, France, Egypt, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Poland. A smaller number of fans came from Germany. There also were tourists from India, Qatar, Israel, China and Morocco.
